When I first started Renew Hair and Beauty, I had a very clear vision. I didn’t just want to open another village salon; I wanted to bring that high-energy, creative city vibe right here to our community. For me, it’s always been about aiming a little higher and showing what’s possible when you refuse to settle.

Learning never stops

There’s an old saying in this industry that "you’re only as good as your last haircut," and I live by that. Education is everything to me. There is nothing more rewarding than taking on an apprentice and watching them grow into a brilliant, confident stylist.

It’s also why I feel so strongly about the "Purple Hearts" movement and Rae’s mission. For too long, people have looked at this career as "just a hairdresser." I’ve spent my life fighting that label. We are professionals, we are artists, and we deserve that recognition through proper registration and high standards.

If I’m the vision, Julie is the heartbeat. She works incredibly hard behind the scenes to make sure the salon isn't just a place of work, but a place where our team actually enjoys being. We’re big believers in work-life balance—because a happy, rested stylist is a creative one.

People told us along the way that some of our goals weren't possible, but that only gave us more fuel. We aren't just running a business; we’re building a legacy in this iconic Woodhall Spa spot.
